Donauinselfest 2026 — Europe’s biggest free festival
The Donauinselfest is the largest free open-air music festival in Europe — three days, more than a dozen stages and around 200 acts across rock, pop, electronic, folk and classical, and not a single euro for a ticket.
It takes over the Donauinsel, the long green island in the middle of the Danube, and is easiest reached by U-Bahn (U1 to Donauinsel, U6 to Neue Donau) — leave the car at home. Below are public events happening around the festival, live from the directory.

How do I get to the Donauinsel?
By U-Bahn: the U1 stops at Donauinsel (southern end) and the U6 at Neue Donau (northern stretch). There is no visitor parking on the island.
